I was down in Niagara-on-the-Lake visiting my in-laws in their recently renovated home. My father-in-law, Rick Sorby, has a background in style as well as has designed as well as developed a handful of homes over the years, so I shouldn’t have been surprised by the incredible transformation.
This is the original front of the house. The gardens are amazing, however there is a whole great deal of white going on. as well as my eye keeps getting drawn as much as the humungous roof!
And now…welcome to the Hamptons! The roof becomes an afterthought with the spectacular new entry. No requirement for a fancy red door to catch your attention.
I like that they selected to utilize a combination of aluminum siding as well as cedar shakes — it truly keeps things interesting, as well as they didn’t break the bank by covering the entire home in cedar. The black shutters likewise add one more level of character to the house.
Not only do the cedar shakes look great, however they odor great too! When you go into with the side entrance you are hit with dose of aromatic cedar… yum!
A lonely garden fence as well as arbour utilized to be lost in the sprawling backyard…
Ahhh, much much better — now it has a location as well as purpose. I like exactly how they reused many of the original garden pieces, including the pergola, fence as well as essentially all of the plants. They dealt with the landscaping business Sykes, based out of St. Catharines.
Sykes did a amazing task on the terminate pit area.
As an avid gardener, this is one of my favourite areas in the garden — I can’t wait to see what is harvested later on this summer, in addition to the rhubarb!
Suffice it to say, I am totally influenced by this house as well as property. as well as I’m not the only fan: right here is our dog, Charlie, looking right at house in the new garden!
