northern Ireland doesn’t have a Tesla store (yet), however using my other hat as NIEVO editor, I was delighted to get an invite to the Dublin store yesterday where the new design 3 has just arrived.
It’s a static display, one of the us spec LHD cars and trucks that have been touring European stores for a number of months now, so no test drives just yet. I’d already seen a white 3 in Geneva, however this time around we were able to really get inside the cars and truck as well as have a appropriate tour of all the tech from our Tesla rep. It was fun trying out all the stuff we’ve checked out about this vehicle over the last 3 years including the hold of enhancements as well as new features that the OTA updates have brought in that time.
There are currently 3 versions of the cars and truck as well as these are the headline numbers for the ‘Standard variety Plus’ rear wheel drive model, the one which is likely to be the very best seller.
All the details should be offered tomorrow or Thursday as Elon Musk has stated orders will open in the UK on 1st or 2nd of May. providing there’s not the usual Elon-time slippage we’ll soon discover out what cost Tesla believes is appropriate for their ‘affordable’ volume model.
Our 4 hour round trip to see the design 3 was well worth it as well as we’re look ahead to a test drive when right hand drive cars and trucks hit these islands.
In the meantime here’s a quick video of our look around the car…
